The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has executed a two-pronged political strategy in Madhya Pradesh regarding their candidate for the Rajya Sabha. The party has sent a message that it is pro-backward and pro-Dalit, in spite of the fact that it has provided opportunities for women to run for office.
It is quite likely that this is the first time in the history of politics in Madhya Pradesh that a political party has simultaneously offered women candidates the opportunity to run for two seats in the Rajya Sabha. It is a problem for both parties to acquire the support of this class of people in the state, since the backward classes in the state continue to be the axis of politics in the state at the present time. The backward class accounts for more than half of the population and has the power to choose the path that the country will go electorally. At the same time, the number of people who belong to scheduled castes is more than 15 percent.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has placed a significant wager on the caste system in an effort to win over one half of the people by running candidates for the Rajya Sabha. In addition to Sumitra Valmiki, a member of the Dalit group, who has been nominated for a seat in the Rajya Sabha, Kavita Patidar, a member of the Other Backward Classes who serves as the general secretary of the state organization. Those who follow what happens in the political corridors have likely been surprised by both of these names. No one was aware that they might be candidates for the Rajya Sabha despite the fact that both of them had been involved in the women's leaders organization.
Political observers believe that the BJP is successful not just because of the choices it makes but also because of the effect it has on the populace. The same scenario has taken place with contenders for the Rajya Sabha seat from the state of Madhya Pradesh this time. Although there was a line of powerful figures waiting to be considered for the Rajya Sabha candidacy, the organization decided that it would be more prudent to place their bets on those who do not belong to any one group. At the same time, the notion has spread that an ordinary worker may achieve a position of significant authority. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is not going to pass up the opportunity to run candidates for the Rajya Sabha in the upcoming panchayat and urban elections.

The selection of nominees for the Rajya Sabha by the BJP has also left the Congress in disbelief. Who is the head of whatever group inside the Congress, and whose backer is merit, while the BJP lays claim to the grassroots worker? It is to the party's advantage. Since the BJP has sent a message to these two groups by nominating women from backward and dalit classes for office, the difficulty that the Congress faces now is deciding whether or not to reply, as well as how and on what basis to do so. The political makeup of the BJP is something that the Congress need to study.
